Frequently Asked Questions
-
Shouldn't they figure this out on their own, like we did? They will, with the right tools. We figured it out in a different market. Today, software screens applications, many roles are filled through referrals, and internships recruit a year ahead. Grit still matters. Now it needs a strategy.
-
Isn't this what the career center is for? Career centers do valuable work, often for thousands of students at once. We don't replace them. We make sure your student uses them, along with faculty, clubs and alumni networks, as part of one focused plan.
-
We've already spent so much on college. Why spend more? Because the degree alone no longer closes the deal. You invested in getting them in. This makes sure that investment turns into internships and offers, not a diploma and a long search.
-
How much does it cost? The assessment and consultation are free. After that, plans depend on what your student needs, whether that’s a focused sprint before recruiting season or support across several semesters. We’ll recommend a plan in the consultation, with clear pricing and no obligation.
-
How does it work? Coaching is virtual, so it fits around classes, jobs and time zones. Your student get one-on-one sessions and a structured program around proprietary content. We offer practical work between sessions: research, outreach, applications and interview prep. Every plan is built around their goals, school and timeline. For more information, you may find our approach HERE.
-
Does it work? It works for the candidates who work the program. Our methodology draws on decades of experience in Fortune 500 strategy, sales leadership and college career development.
-
Isn't this helicopter parenting? No. Helicopter parenting is doing it for them. This is giving them what they need to do it themselves. You send the assessment, and your student takes it from there.
-
Is freshman year too early? No. Freshman and sophomore year is when students build the experience employers look for: the right courses, roles, projects and relationships. Students who start early don't have to scramble senior year.
-
My student is a senior with nothing lined up. Is it too late? No, but the timing matters. Many employers recruit months ahead, so the sooner your student starts, the more options they'll have.
-
My student has already graduated. Can you still help? Yes. Many schools keep career services and alumni networks open to graduates, and most alumni never use them. We help recent grads restart with a real strategy instead of more applications.
-
My student doesn't know what they want to do. Should they wait? No. Finding direction is often where we start. And, the assessments helps us focus where to begin.
-
My student has no internship experience. Can you still help? Yes. That's when the hidden opportunities on campus matter most - research roles, leadership positions and projects employers value as much as a formal internship. Plus, if you give us 30 minutes, we are confident we can help them package more impact than you realized you already delivered.
-
What if my child won't take the assessment? Send it anyway. It's free, it's quick, and students are often curious and then surprised by what they learn. A suggestion from you, followed by an email from us, often works better than another conversation at home.
-
Will I be involved, and what will you share with me? You're welcome to join the consultation. After that, your student leads. Your student’s coaching is theirs. We’ll share what they’re comfortable sharing, and we encourage them to keep you in the loop on their plan and progress. If they’d like you at the consultation, you’re welcome. After that, the conversation is between them and us, which is part of what helps them take ownership.
-
Do you apply to jobs for them? No. Your student does the work, because employers hire people who can sell themselves, and because those are skills they'll use for a whole career. We give them the plan, the coaching and the feedback.
